KARRINYUP CRICKET CLUB
How are we travelling?: The club is travelling along well. Despite not bringing home a flag from 4 grand final appearances last season, we were stoked with the consistency of wins we achieved across 6 teams. This consistency was rewarded with the Champion Club award, won for just the 2nd time in our club's history. In August we also won the Balga Winter T20 comp and $700 prize money!
Whilst a number of core players departed at the end of 2017/18 for various reasons, the start of 2018/19 has seen over 15 new members make their debut for KCC, most of whom are under the age of 25. The diversity of our club demographics in terms of age, background & country of origin is one of our great strengths and we continue to look to new methods of advertising via social media etc. to boost player numbers.
The past 3 or 4 years have seen considerable focus & money put into modernising our infrastructure and facilities at both Karrinyup Reserve & Lake Gwelup Reserve. We thank the City of Stirling for their assistance in achieving these improvements, and believe they have coincided with an increase in attendance at some of our key annual social events, and hopefully a more enjoyable experience for our patrons.
We look forward to a competitive 2018/19 season and the challenge provided by the arrival of new clubs Lesmurdie, Rossmoyne & Midland into the PCA.
Teams: 6 (1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 1 Day Merc, 1 Day Central)
Premierships: 24 (Most recent - 2016/17 PCA 5th Grade)
Annual Subs: $10 to join. $5 per game (U/21) / $15 per away day / $20 per home day
Upcoming Milestones: Expecting Ross Evans to become the 4th Yupper to join the 400 game club if he stays fit!
