Dear Perth Swan Cricket Association Clubs
This season the Association will be providing regular updates to clubs on all matters Perth Swan Cricket.
This will allow for all clubs to be up to date and informed on the happenings of the Association.
Naming of Teams
Clubs are to name teams in PlayHQ by 5.00pm on Friday. This helps all clubs with live scoring and not needing to make last minute changes before the game when the captains have enough on their plate.
The Association understands there may be changes between 5.00pm Friday and the start of the match, so please make these changes in PlayHQ as soon as you know.
Please note even if a player is named in PlayHQ it is the team sheet that is the official record.
The team sheet is to be completed 30 minutes before the start of the match and the coin toss.
If a player gets injured between the toss and the start of the match, the team sheet can be changed as long as it is agreed to by both captains. Opposition captains if a player does get injured, please do the right thing and agree, let's get the match starting in the right spirit.
Once the match starts no changes can occur to the team sheet.
Please note a team has already lost points for a match they won convincingly this season due to a team sheet error.
Captain Responsibilities
The responsibility to ensure a match is played in the right spirit comes down to the captains of both teams. Setting the standard, respecting the opposition and umpire and creating a positive environment help with making the game enjoyable for everyone.
It is the role of the captain to maintain the spirit of the game and to make sure all their players are doing the same.
If a captain is unable to maintain this standard or their players behaviour, the captain could face a caution or report. If a captain or player receives a second caution within a 12 month period they will receive a 2 week ban.
This week a captain received a caution due to player behavior, which was their second offence in 12 months and will be missing the next two weeks.
2nd Grade and G Division Bye
Unfortunately we still have byes in 2nd Grade and G Division. These clubs will receive more information early next week in regards to evening out the fairness of these grades.
If your club thinks you could field another team please get in contact with me as soon as possible.
Fixture Changes
Please note there are still some fixture changes occurring with ground unavailability's. Please continue to check fixtures weekly in case there has been a late change.
Social Media
We have been loving all the great social media content that the clubs have been producing, keep up the good work.
Keep celebrating the 100's and the 5fas and tag in the Association and The Community Sports Show.
Play hard, Play Fair and Enjoy Playing with your Mates this weekend.
Good luck and see you around.
